A new air conditioning compressor is being introduced on the 1985 Cimarron 2.0L, 4-cylinder engine. The new compressor has variable displacement that matches the air conditioning demand without cycling.
Harrison Radiator Division has requested Cadillac's assistance in participating in a field return program an the new V-5 air conditioning compressor. The request is that any repair work in the field be limited to replacement and return of the compressor assembly. The purpose of this program is to readily identify product conditions and implement immediate corrective action for improved customer satisfaction. The program will run until September 1, 1985, on compressor part number 12322147 used on the Cimarron. All dealers, including those in in other parts return programs, are requested to participate in this field return program. This program takes precedence over other parts returns programs.
All compressor are to be tagged with VIN, mileage, reason for replacement and other pertinent information. Whenever possible, a copy of the Repair Order should be included and placed inside the carton.
