Removal Procedure

Caution: An electric fan under the hood can start up even when the engine is not running and can injure you. Keep hands, clothing and tools away from any underhood electric fan.


    Object Number: 141940  Size: SH
  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging in HVAC with Automatic A/C.
  2. Remove the A/C condenser. Refer to Condenser Replacement in HVAC with Automatic A/C.
  3. Disconnect the fan connectors.
  4. Remove the fans from the radiator support:
  5. • Tilt the fans rearward in order to unseat the upper retainers (2).
    • Lift the fans in order to unseat the lower retainers.

  6. Remove the fan blade clips (1).
  7. Remove the fan blades.
  8. Remove the fan motor bolts.
  9. Remove the fan motors from the housings.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the fan motors to the housings.
  2. Install the fan motor bolts until fully seated and not stripped.

  4. Install the fan blades.
  5. Install the fan blade clips (1).

  6. Object Number: 141940  Size: SH
  7. Install the fans to the radiator support:
  8. • Seat the fans into the lower retainers.
    • Tilt the fans forward in order to seat in the upper retainers (2).
  9. Connect the fan connectors.
  10. Install the A/C condenser. Refer to Condenser Replacement in HVAC with Automatic A/C.
  11. Charge and leak test the A/C system.
