The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
The customer may notice the Integrated Center Stack (ICS) that houses the radio controls for RPO U2T and U2R, may flicker on and off. It may flicker only in cold temperature. The cause may be the result of a transverse terminal bond issue causing bus communication errors to occur, this in turn causes the ICS light values to change making it look like it is turning on and off.
Important: Radio and HVAC concerns can be the result of poor connections. Do not overlook testing the terminals at the ICS for this concern.
Recommendation/Instructions:
Remove pin 9 Low Speed GMLAN ckt 5060 from the ICS connector and tape it back into the harness. The connector is identified as Radio/HVAC Control in SI Component Connector End Views. During the production year the wire harness may have had the terminal taped back already, if you find this in the vehicle then this PI does not apply.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
