MIL Reduced Engine Power DTC P0087 P0089 P0451 P0452 P0628 - keywords SES

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Some customers may comment the Malfunction Indicator Lamp (MIL) and or Reduced Engine Power is displayed on the Driver Information Center. Further investigation may reveal one or more of the following DTC are stored. The cause may be the engine wire harness chaffing on the passenger front engine cover/sight shield ball stud bracket.

Inspect the engine wire harness breakout for the engine control module (1) for chaffing on the passenger front engine cover/sight shield ball stud bracket (2).

Repair the wiring as necessary. Reroute the harness under the battery negative cable (3) away from the passenger front engine cover/sight shield ball stud bracket (2).

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
