Turn Signal Does Not Cancel Intermittently - keywords cam multifunction switch

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Some customers may comment that on occasion their turn signal will not cancel automatically. The cause may be a slight movement of the turn signal/multifunction switch assembly. Movement of the switch will change the amount of interference between the cancel cam on the SIR coil and the cancel button on the turn signal/multifunction switch assembly.

1. Remove the steering column shroud
2. If necessary loosen the turn signal/multifunction switch mounting screw (1) and reposition the switch assembly toward the SIR coil to ensure adequate interference between the cancel cam on the SIR coil and the cancel button on the switch assembly.
3. Tighten the Allen screw (1) screw.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
