CHECK ANTENNA Message On XM Band - keywords antenna coax connector message nosignal radio xm xmradio

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Some technicians have reported message "CHECK ANTENNA" on the XM™ band only. Normally no codes are set.

Do not replace the radio.

It has been determined that connector X250 for the XM™ antenna coax may be disconnected, have a poor connection or even damaged. X250 is located below the IP center stack just ahead of the floor center console and down towards the accelerator pedal. This connector is yellow/tan in color and will have a single coax on each side of the connector.

Picture 1 shows the X250 connector in the incorrect location with the line from the radio disconnected. Note the empty mounting hole on the bracket. (See Picture 1)

Picture 2 shows the X250 connector in the proper location. (See Picture 2)

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
