J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Remove the front bumper facia deflector. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 799114  Size: SH
  4. Remove the receiver dryer bottom plug (1).
  5. Remove the filter (2).

  6. Object Number: 819800  Size: SH
  7. Remove the desiccant bag (3).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 819800  Size: SH
  1. Install the desiccant bag (3).
  2. Install the filter (2).
  3. Lubricate the O-rings on the plug with refrigerant oil before installing. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 799114  Size: SH
  5. Install the bottom plug (1).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the plug to 12.5 N·m (111 lb in).

  7. Install the front bumper facia deflector. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Replacement .
  8. Lower the vehicle.
  9. Add the proper amount of oil. Refer to Refrigerant System Capacities .
  10. Evacuate and recharge the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  11. Leak test the fittings of the component with J 39400-A .
