J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement .
  3. Remove the A/C quick connect fitting at the liquid line. Refer to Air Conditioning Line/Tube Connector Removal/Replacement .
  4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

  5. Object Number: 1563776  Size: SH
  6. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Replacement .
  7. Remove the condenser tube to condenser retaining bolt.
  8. Disconnect the condenser tube from the fan shroud retainer clip.
  9. Disconnect the condenser tube from the condenser.
  10. Disconnect the condenser tube from the liquid line.
  11. Disconnect the A/C pressure sensor electrical connector.
  12. Remove the condenser tube.
  13. Remove the A/C pressure sensor (1).
  14. Remove and discard the O-rings.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the new O-rings to the condenser tube. Refer to O-Ring Replacement .
  2. Install the A/C pressure sensor (1).
  3. Install the condenser tube.
  4. Connect the A/C pressure sensor electrical connector.
  5. Connect the condenser tube to the liquid line.
  6. Connect the condenser tube to the condenser.

  8. Connect the condenser tube to the fan shroud retainer clip.
  9. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  10. Install the condenser tube to condenser retaining bolt.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  12. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Air Deflector Replacement .
  13. Lower the vehicle.
  14. Install the A/C quick connect fitting at the liquid line. Refer to Air Conditioning Line/Tube Connector Removal/Replacement .
  15. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement.
  16. Evacuate and recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  17. Using J 39400-A , leak test the fittings of the component.
