Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement.
  2. Place drain pans under the vehicle as needed.
  3. Remove as much power steering fluid from the remote power steering fluid reservoir as possible.
  4. Remove the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement.

  5. Object Number: 1300041  Size: SH
  6. Disconnect the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose from the power steering pump.

  7. Object Number: 1304375  Size: SH
  8. Disconnect the power steering gear inlet hose fitting from the power steering pump.

  9. Object Number: 888286  Size: SH
  10. Remove the power steering pump bracket bolts.
  11. Remove the power steering pump and bracket from the vehicle.
  12. If necessary, transfer the power steering pump bracket. Refer to Power Steering Pump Bracket Replacement.

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the power steering pump and bracket to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 888286  Size: SH

    Important: Start all fasteners by hand before finalizing any torques.

    Important: Torque the power steering pump bolts in the order indicated in the graphic.

  3. Install the power steering pump bracket bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

  5. Connect the power steering gear inlet hose fitting to the power steering pump.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the fitting to 38 N·m (28 lb ft).

  7. Connect the power steering fluid reservoir outlet hose to the power steering pump.
  8. Clean any excess fluid from the vehicle and remove the drain pans.
  9. Install the power steering pump pulley. Refer to Power Steering Pump Pulley Replacement.
  10. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement.
  11. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding.
