Notice: To prevent component damage, DO NOT use metal tools to remove the trim.

Notice: Be sure to follow the service procedure when removing the trim panel. Failure to follow service procedure may cause damage to the trim panel.

Preliminary Procedure

1. Remove the right and left front floor console appliques. Refer to Front Floor Console Applique Replacement .
2. Remove the transmission control boot. Refer to Transmission Control Lever Boot Replacement .

Front Floor Console Transmission Shifter Trim Plate Assembly

Procedure

1. Use a flat bladed plastic trim tool in order to release the retaining clips securing the front floor console transmission shift plate to the console assembly.
2. Disconnect the electrical connections.
3. When replacing the front floor console transmission shift plate assembly, transfer all necessary components.

Front Floor Console Transmission Opening Trim Plate Assembly

Procedure

1. Use a flat bladed trim tool and release the retainers securing the front floor console transmission opening trim plate to the console assembly.
2. Disconnect the electrical connections.
3. Firmly grasp the shift control knob and pull straight up using enough force to release the retainer clip securing the shift control knob and boot assembly to the shift lever.
4. When replacing the front floor console transmission opening trim plate, transfer all necessary components.
