Engine Mount Replacement - Right Side w/AWD

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 2047138  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
  2. Remove the cross vehicle brace. Refer to Cross Vehicle Brace Replacement.
  3. Remove the exhaust system. Refer to Exhaust System Replacement.
  4. Remove the upper engine mount retaining nut (1).

  5. Object Number: 2047157  Size: SH
  6. Remove the lower engine mount retaining nuts.
  7. Install a screw jack with a block of wood under the oil pan for support.
  8. Important: Note position of the engine mount prior to removing mount.

  9. Using the screw jack, raise the engine enough to remove the engine mount.
  10. Remove the engine mount from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Important: Ensure the engine mount is positioned correctly.

  1. Install the engine mount to the vehicle.
  2. Using the screw jack, lower the engine.
  3. Remove the screw jack and block of wood supporting the engine.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Install the upper engine mount retaining nut (1).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 80 N·m (59 lb ft).

  7. Install the right and left lower engine mount retaining nuts.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 80 N·m (59 lb ft).

  9. Install the exhaust system. Refer to Exhaust System Replacement.
  10. Install the cross vehicle brace. Refer to Cross Vehicle Brace Replacement.
  11. Connect the battery ground cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.

Engine Mount Replacement - Right Side w/RWD

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 2040466  Size: SH
  1. Remove the tower brace. Refer to Cross Vehicle Brace Replacement.
  2. Remove the nut (1) from the top of the engine mount.
  3. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  4. Position a screw jack and a block of wood under the engine oil pan.

  6. Remove the right and left engine mount lower nut (1).

  7. Object Number: 2040793  Size: SH
  8. Using the screw jack, raise the engine enough to remove the engine mount (1).

  9. Object Number: 2009488  Size: SH
  10. Be sure to remove the engine mount slotted washer (1) or plastisol insert washer (2) between the engine mount and the frame.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 2009488  Size: SH
  1. Install the engine mount to the vehicle.
  2. Ensure the slotted washer (1) or plastisol insert washer (2) is properly installed and located between the engine mount and the frame.

  3. Lower the engine onto the engine mount.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Install the right and left engine mount lower nut (1).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 80 N·m (59 lb ft).

  7. Remove the screw jack and a block of wood from under the engine oil pan.
  8. Lower the vehicle.
  9. Install the nut (1) to the top of the engine mount.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 80 N·m (59 lb ft).

  11. Install the tower brace. Refer to Cross Vehicle Brace Replacement.

Preliminary Procedures

  1. Discharge the air conditioning (A/C) system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
  2. Remove the tower brace. Refer to Cross Vehicle Brace Replacement.
  3. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  4. Remove the suction hose from the A/C compressor. Refer to Suction Hose Replacement.
  5. Position the hose aside to gain access to the engine mount top nut.
  6. Lower the vehicle.

Engine Mount Fastener

Notice: Refer to Component Fastener Tightening Notice in the Preface section.

Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
  2. Position a screw jack and a block of wood under the engine oil pan.

Tighten
80 N·m (59 lb ft)

Procedure

  1. Using the screw jack, raise the engine enough to remove the engine mount.
  2. Install the right and left engine mount lower nut first.
