Hard Brake Pedal on Cold Starts at High Altitude

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

In rare instances, some customers may comment on a hard brake pedal. This condition is most apparent in the first 30 seconds to 1 minute after a cold start and at high altitudes, usually between 1219-1829 m (4000-6000 ft).

TSB 06-05-22-003 was released to repair 2005 - 2006 model year vehicles with this concern. The repair information contained in TSB 06-05-22-003 may also be used for 2007 model year vehicles. The condition should not be as prevalent due to a new injector spray pattern introduced in 2007.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
