Rattle Noise Under Dash - keywords brake cable dash instrument panel park parking stud

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Some CTS may experience a rattle type noise from under the dash. The noise may be more noticeable while turning.

Inspect the parking brake cable for contacting a bulkhead pass-through stud. If contact is noted, grind the tip of the stud down until no more contact is made. Do not remove the stud completely.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
