Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

Is the vehicle equipped with an automatic transmission?

Go to Step 3

  1. Connect a scan tool.
  2. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF.
  3. Read current personalization setting for the automatic door locks. Refer to Features and Controls in the owners manual for a description of door lock mode functions.
  4. Close all doors.
  5. Shift the gear selector out of PARK.
  6. Shift the gear selector into PARK.
  7. Turn OFF the ignition.

Did the power door locks operate as expected for the mode selected?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 5

  1. Connect a scan tool.
  2. Turn the ignition ON, with the engine OFF.
  3. Read current personalization setting for the automatic door locks. Refer to Features and Controls in the owners manual for a description of door lock mode functions.
  4. Close all doors.
  5. Operate the vehicle to a speed greater than 13 kh/h (8 mph) to verify the automatic door locks operate.

Did the power door locks operate as expected for the mode selected?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Go to Step 5

With the scan tool, observe the Door Jamb Switch parameter of each door in each Door Module Data list.

Does the scan tool indicate that the Door Jamb Switch parameter is in the OFF state for all doors?

Go to Step 6

Go to Courtesy Lamps Always On

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the rear integration module (RIM). Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 8

Go to Step 7

Replace the RIM. Refer to Control Module References for replacement, setup, and programming.

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 8
