Test Description

The numbers below refer to the step numbers on the diagnostic table.

  1. This step determines if the indicator is operating properly.

  2. This step determines if the driver door switch assembly (DDSA) recognizes the lockout switch input.

Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check - Vehicle?

  1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
  2. Observe the lockout LED indicator on the rear window lockout switch button.
  3. Momentarily press the lockout switch button.
  4. Momentarily press the lockout switch button again.

Does the LED indicator illuminate when the lockout switch button is first pressed, then go out when it is pressed again?

Go to Step 3

Important:: Make sure that the passenger window lockout option is selected as ON in the vehicle owner customization menu. If the window lockout selection is OFF, set it to ON and verify that the fault is still present.

  1. Install a scan tool.
  2. With the scan tool, observe the Window Lockout Switch parameter in the Driver Door Switch Inputs list.
  3. Momentarily press the lockout switch button.
  4. Momentarily press the lockout switch button again.

Does the scan tool display Pressed when you press the switch and Idle when you are not pressing it?

Go to Step 4

  1. Momentarily press the lockout switch button until the lockout switch LED indicator is illuminated.
  2. Attempt to operate each rear window from each rear window switch mounted on the rear doors.

Did both rear windows still operate from their associated window switch?

Go to Step 6

Did one of the rear windows still operate in step 4?

Go to Step 7

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections

Inspect for poor connections at the driver door switch assembly (DDSA) harness connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

Go to Step 8

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the door module associated with the window that continued to operate. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs .

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 10

Replace the DDSA. Refer to Front Side Door Window Switch Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 10

Replace the door module associated with the window that continued to operate. Refer to Control Module References for replacement, setup, and programming.

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK
