Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Replacement LP1, LY7

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 888284  Size: SH
  1. Remove the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to one of the following procedures:
  2. •  Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement in Engine Controls - 2.8L
    •  Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.6L (LY7)
  3. Remove the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement in Body Front End.
  4. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
  5. Remove the power steering cooler hose from the power steering reservoir.
  6. Remove the power steering reservoir outlet hose from the power steering reservoir.

  8. Remove the power steering reservoir bolts.
  9. Remove the power steering reservoir.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 888281  Size: SH
  1. Install the power steering reservoir.
  2. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  3. Install the power steering reservoir bolts.
  4. Tighten

        • Tighten the upper bolts to 9 N·m (80 lb in).
        • Tighten the lower bolt to 25 N·m (19 lb ft).

  5. Install the power steering reservoir outlet hose to the power steering reservoir.
  6. Install the power steering cooler hose to the power steering reservoir.
  7. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
  8. Install the air cleaner intake duct. Refer to one of the following procedures:
  9. •  Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement in Engine Controls - 2.8L
    •  Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement in Engine Controls - 3.6L (LY7)
  10. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
  11. Install the front air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement in Body Front End.
