Makes šŸ¢’ Cadillac šŸ¢’ 2003 šŸ¢’ CTS šŸ¢’ Engine šŸ¢’ Engine Controls - 2.6L and 3.2L šŸ¢’ Throttle Body Assembly Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.

    2. Object Number: 785802 Size: SH
  2. Disconnect the air intake duct hoses from the throttle body.

    3. Object Number: 785746 Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the following from the throttle body:
    4. ā€¢ The surge tank inlet hose
    ā€¢ The throttle body heater hose
    ā€¢ The fuel pressure regulator atmospheric vent tube

    Object Number: 785851 Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the throttle body electrical connector (2) from the throttle body (1).

    5. Object Number: 345338 Size: SH
  5. Remove the throttle body assembly mounting bolts.

    6. Object Number: 345341 Size: SH
  6. Remove the throttle body assembly from the following:
    7. ā€¢ The intake plenum
    ā€¢ The vacuum fittings

    Object Number: 658228 Size: SH
  7. Remove and discard the following:
    8. ā€¢ The throttle body O-ring seals (1)
    ā€¢ The vacuum fitting O-ring seals

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 658228 Size: SH
  1. Position the throttle body O-ring seals (1) to the grooves in the throttle body.
  2. Lightly lubricate the vacuum fitting O-rings with clean engine oil.
  3. Install the vacuum fitting O-rings to the vacuum fittings.

    4. Object Number: 345341 Size: SH
  4. Simultaneously position the throttle body assembly to the following:
    5. ā€¢ The intake plenum
    ā€¢ The vacuum fittings

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 345338 Size: SH
  5. Install the throttle body assembly mounting bolts.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the throttle body assembly mounting bolts to 8 NĀ·m (71 lb in).

  6. Connect the throttle body electrical connector (2) to the throttle body (1).

    7. Object Number: 785746 Size: SH
  7. Connect the following to the throttle body:
    8. ā€¢ The surge tank inlet hose
    ā€¢ The throttle body heater hose
    ā€¢ The fuel pressure regulator atmospheric vent tube

  8. Connect the air intake duct hoses to the throttle body.
  9. Perform the idle learn procedure. Refer to Idle Learn .
  10. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
