Removal Procedure

    Caution: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.

  1. Hosit the vehicle.

  2. Object Number: 14990  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the CKP sensor harness electrical connector at the CKP sensor.
  4. Remove the CKP sensor to engine block bolt.
  5. Remove the CKP sensor from the engine block.

Installation Procedure

Important: Inspect the CKP sensor O-ring for wear, cracks or leakage. Replace if necessary. Lubricate the new O-ring with engine oil before installing.

  1. Install the CKP sensor into the engine block.
  2. Install the CKP sensor to engine block bolt.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (88 lb in).

  4. Connect the CKP sensor harness electrical connector.
  5. Preform the Crankshaft Position System Variation Learning Procedure (Refer to the Powertrain Control Module General Description portion of the service manual).
