WOODPECKER TYPE NOISE ON COLD START

ON A 1996 N CAR WITH 3.1L ENGINE (VIN M - RPO L82) WITH A WOODPECKER TYPE RATTLE OR TAPPING, THE NOISE HAS BEEN TRACED TO THE EVAPORATIVE EMISSION SYSTEM VENT SOLENOID WHICH RESTS ON THE INNER FENDER. THE REPAIR IS TO REPOSITION AND ISOLATE THE SOLENOID FROM THE FENDER IF NECESSARY.
