ON SOME EARLY PRODUCTION 1982 BUICK CENTURY AND SKYLARK VEHICLES, THE GLOVE COMPARTMENT LAMP MAY STAY ON WITH THE GLOVE BOX DOOR IN THE CLOSED POSITION, RESULTING IN A DRAIN ON THE BATTERY. TO CORRECT THIS CONDITION, A SMALL HARD RUBBER OR PLASTIC BUMPER (1/2" SQUARE BY 1/8" THICK) MAY BE GLUED IN THE POSITIONS SHOWN IN FIGURE 1 (CENTURY) AND FIGURE 2 (SKYLARK). THIS BUMPER WILL ENSURE COMPLETE CONTACT IS MADE WITH THE GLOVE BOX LIGHT ON/OFF PLUNGER. MANUFACTURING HAVE TAKEN STEPS TO ENSURE INSTALLATION OF THESE BUMPERS ON CURRENT PRODUCTION VEHICLES.
