HOT HESITATION/STALLING NEW PROM P/N'S LISTED REV.

MODELS AFFECTED: 1987 SKYHAWKS WITH LT2 2.OL OHC L-4 ENGINES (VIN CODE K) AND AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS

NOTICE: This bulletin is revised to include "erratic idle" and updates the PROM part number. Dealer Service Bulletin 87-6E-13A should be discarded.

Some 1987 Skyhawks equipped with LT2, 2.OL OHC engines and automatic transmissions (MD9) may exhibit hot hesitation, erratic idle, or stall (cold or hot) on gear engagement.

If customer comments are received that cannot be resolved using published diagnostic procedures and service information, a new service PROM, Part Number 16086856, is available from GMSPO.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
