THIS BULLETIN SUPPLEMENT IS BEING PROVIDED TO UPDATE INFORMATION PREVIOUSLY PUBLISHED. DIAGNOSTIC PROCEDURE ILLUSTRATED ON THE REVERSE SIDE SHOULD BE INSERTED AS A REPLACEMENT FOR PAGE 4 OF THE BULLETIN PREVIOUSLY RELEASED. RECENT ECM/PROM CALIBRATION CHANGES HAVE ELIMINATED THE NEED FOR THE DELAY-TIMER AND DELAY-TIME INHIBITOR RELAYS ON LATE PRODUCTION 1982 CAVALIER VEHICLES WITH AIR CONDITIONING. THE FOLLOWING CHANGES TO INFORMATION PROVIDED IN THE 1982 "J" SERIES SERVICE MANUAL (PAGES 1B-9 THROUGH 1B-13 AND 8A-78) WILL PERMIT COMPRESSOR SYSTEM DIAGNOSIS TO BOTH EARLY AND LATE PRODUCTION MODELS. SEE BULLETIN PUBLICATIONS REFERENCED FOR COMPLETE DIAGNOSIS CHART INFORMATION.
General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
