Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the engine oil cooler hose upper fitting at the radiator.
  2. Raise the vehicle.
  3. Suitably support the vehicle. Refer to General Vehicle Lifting and Jacking in General Information.
  4. Place a drain pan under the radiator in order to catch oil.
  5. Remove the engine oil cooler hose lower fitting at the radiator.
  6. Remove the heated oxygen sensor electrical connector.
  7. Remove the engine oil cooler pipe clip nut and the hose nut.
  8. Remove engine oil cooler hose.
  9. Discard the seals.
  10. Remove the engine oil filter.

  12. Remove the oil filter adapter bolt and the washer.
  13. Remove the oil filter adapter, seal, and the gasket.
  14. Clean any oil from the exhaust components.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 66193  Size: SH
  1. Install the oil filter adapter gasket.
  2. Install the oil filter adapter seal.
  3. Install the oil filter adapter.
  4. Install the oil filter adapter washers and bolts.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the oil filter adapter bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the engine oil filter by hand tightening.
  7. Install the engine oil cooler hose with new seals.
  8. Install the engine oil cooler hose nut.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

  10. Install the engine oil cooler pipe clip nut.
  11. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  12. Install the heated oxygen sensor electrical connector. Route the sensor pigtail through the engine oil cooler hose pipes.
  13. Remove the engine oil cooler hose upper fitting at the radiator.
  14. Tighten
    Tighten the upper fitting to 24 N·m (18 lb in).

  15. Inspect the engine oil level before and after running the vehicle.
  16. If the engine oil has been replaced, reset the engine oil life monitor whether the lamp comes on or not. Refer to General Information.
