For 1990-2009 cars only
- Clean the crankshaft in solvent.
- Dry the crankshaft with compressed air.
- Measure the crankpins for out-of-round, taper, or undersize with a micrometer. Refer to Engine Mechanical Specifications (LT1) .
- Support the crankshaft front and rear journals on V-blocks.
- Measure the crankshaft run-out at the front and rear intermediate journals with a dial indicator. Refer to Engine Mechanical Specifications (LT1) .
- Replace or recondition the crankshaft if measurements are not within specifications.
