Important: The distributor is driven by a camshaft pin that mates to one slot in the distributor driveshaft.

  4. Install the distributor.
  5. Before you insert the distributor bolts, ensure that the distributor is fully seated to the engine front cover. If the distributor is difficult to seat, check the alignment of the distributor driveshaft slot, the timing mark and the camshaft pin.

  6. Install the distributor bolts.
  7. Tighten
Tighten the distributor bolts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Install the ignition coil and bracket and studs.
  9. Tighten
Tighten the ignition coil studs to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).
