Exhaust Manifold Installation Right Side


    Object Number: 39102  Size: SH
  1. Install the exhaust manifold gasket and exhaust manifold.
  2. Install the exhaust manifold studs and bolts.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the exhaust manifold studs and bolts to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the air injection pipe and check valve as an assembly.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the secondary air injection pipe fitting to 55 N·m (41 lb ft).

  6. Install the EGR inlet pipe, new gasket and the bolts and nuts.
  7. Tighten

        • Tighten the EGR inlet pipe to exhaust manifold bolt to 30 N·m (22 lb ft).
        • Tighten the EGR inlet pipe to intake manifold nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  1. Install the new exhaust manifold gasket and exhaust manifold.
  2. Install the exhaust manifold studs and bolts.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the exhaust manifold studs and bolts to 40 N·m (30 lb ft).
