- Install the three 5/16--18 x 4.0 inch bolts into the camshaft front bolt holes.
- Install the camshaft.
- Remove the three bolts from the front of the camshaft.
- Install the camshaft retainer.
- Install the oil pump driveshaft and bolt. The bolt hole ear must be seated on the boss before you tighten the bolt.
Important: Use care when you install the camshaft. All bearings are of equal diameter.
Tighten
Tighten the camshaft retainer bolts to 12 N·m (106 lb in).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the oil pump driveshaft bolt to 18 N·m (13 lb ft).
