Spark Plug Wires Not Operating Properly L36 and L67

Caution: Wash your hands after handling coated spark plugs and before smoking. The coating is a non-hazardous material and incidental contact will not cause any adverse effects. However, exposure to polymer vapors - the result of contamination of cigarette products and subsequent burning of the polymer - may result in flu-like symptoms and should be avoided.

Notice: Note the spark plug wire harness routing during harness removal. Improper routing during installation can cause the following conditions:

1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Remove the engine cover.

Notice: Twist the spark plug boot one-half turn in order to release the boot. Pull on the spark plug boot only. Do not pull on the spark plug wire or the wire could be damaged.

3. Remove the spark plug wire harness from the ignition coils.
4. Remove the harness from the spark plugs.



5. Remove the complete harness from the vehicle.

1. Install the harness to the spark plugs.
2. Install the harness on the ignition coils.
3. Install the harness on clips.
4. Install the engine cover.

Spark Plug Wires Not Operating Properly L47

1. Turn the ignition to OFF.
2. Remove the engine cover.



3. Remove the secondary ignition wires from the ignition coils.
4. Remove the secondary ignition wires from the channel on the intake manifold
5. Remove the secondary ignition wires from the spark plugs.

Important: Use care when removing the spark plug boots from the spark plugs. Twist the boot 1/2 turn before removing. Pull on the boot only to remove it. Do not pull on the wire as this may damage the secondary ignition wire.

6. Complete the secondary ignition wire assembly from the vehicle.

1. Position the secondary ignition wire assembly to the top of the engine.
2. Install the secondary ignition wire assembly onto the intake manifold.
3. Install the secondary ignition wires to spark plugs, making sure that the spark plug boots are fully seated.
4. Install the secondary ignition wires to ignition coils.
5. Install the engine cover.
