DOOR UPPER TRIM PAD REVEAL MOLDINGS SEPARATE FROM PAD

MODELS AFFECTED: 1989 RIVIERAS

Some 1989 Rivieras may exhibit a condition of poor fit of the door trim pad upper reveal molding to the trim pad at front or rear of the pad. To correct this condition use the following procedure:

1. Lower window.

2. Apply electrical tape to the molding to protect from scratches.

IMPORTANT: Hold door trim pad in position through the remaining steps.

3. Using a block of wood approximately 12" long, position a smooth side against the molding as shown in Figure 1.

4. Use a rubber mallet to tap the wood block and tighten the molding at the door trim pad. Too much force could tighten the molding too much or damage it.

5. Reposition the wood block as shown in Figure 2. Again, use the mallet to reshape the molding.

Alternating the wood positions may be required to achieve the proper molding poition.
