Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the I/P insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side and Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side .

  2. Object Number: 318206  Size: SH
  3. Remove the bolts from the bottom of the knee bolster.
  4. Pull on the knee bolster in order to release the upper clips.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 318206  Size: SH
  1. Perform the following steps in order to install the knee bolster to the instrument panel:
  2. 1.1. Align the clips with the slots in the instrument panel.
    1.2. Push in, in order to secure the knee bolster.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolts to the bottom of the knee bolster.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts/screws to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  5. Install the I/P insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side and Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Left Side .
