Removal Procedure

  1. Turn the ignition OFF.

  2. Object Number: 1404634  Size: SH
  3. Remove the air cleaner upper cover. Refer to Air Cleaner Element Replacement .

  4. Object Number: 1395508  Size: SH
  5. Remove the transmission control module (TCM) from the air cleaner.
  6. Disconnect the TCM electrical connectors from the TCM.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1395508  Size: SH
  1. Connect the TCM electrical connectors to the TCM.
  2. Install the TCM to the air cleaner.

  3. Object Number: 1404634  Size: SH
  4. Install the air cleaner upper cover. Refer to Air Cleaner Element Replacement .
  5. Program the TCM. Refer to Control Module References .
  6. Important: It is recommended that transmission adaptive pressure (TAP) information be reset.

    Resetting the TAP values using a scan tool will erase all learned values in all cells. As a result, the engine control module (ECM), powertrain control module (PCM), or TCM will need to relearn TAP values. Transmission performance may be affected as new TAP values are learned.

  7. Reset the TAP values. Refer to Transmission Adaptive Functions .
  8. Refer to Control Module References for programming and setup information.
