Removal Procedure

Tools Required

    • J 28467-A Engine Support Fixture
    • J 28467-90 Engine Support Fixture Adapters
    • J 36462 Engine Support Fixture Leg
  1. Remove the battery ground (negative) cable. Refer to

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  2. Remove the engine mount struts. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .
  3. Install the J 28467-A , J 28467-90 and J 36462 .
  4. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to General Information.
  5. Remove the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Tires and Wheels.
  6. Remove the right engine splash shield. Refer to Body Front End.

  8. Remove the engine mount lower retaining nuts from the frame
  9. Raise the engine in order to provide clearance.
  10. Remove the air conditioning compressor and set aside. Refer to HVAC.

  11. Object Number: 97800  Size: SH
  12. Remove the left (front) engine mount bracket bolts from the engine.

  13. Object Number: 97804  Size: SH
  14. Remove the right (rear) engine mount bracket bolts from the engine.
  15. Remove the engine mount with the engine mount bracket from the engine.

  16. Object Number: 43405  Size: SH
  17. Remove the engine mount from the engine mount bracket.

Installation Procedure

Tools Required

    • J 28467-A Engine Support Fixture
    • J 28467-90 Engine Support Fixture Adapters
    • J 36462 Engine Support Fixture Leg

  1. Install the engine mount to the mount bracket.
  2. Install the nuts connecting the engine mount to the bracket.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 47 N·m (35 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the engine mount bracket with the engine mount to the engine.

  6. Loosely install the right (rear) engine mount bracket bolts to the engine.

  7. Object Number: 97800  Size: SH
  8. Loosely install the left (front) engine mount bracket bolts to the engine.
  9. Tighten the bolts connecting the engine mount bracket to the engine.
  10. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 102 N·m (75 lb ft).

  11. Install the air conditioning compressor. Refer to HVAC.
  12. Lower the engine.

  14. Install the engine mount lower retaining nuts.
  15. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 43 N·m (32 lb ft).

  16. Install the right engine splash shield. Refer to Body Front End.
  17. Install the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Tires and Wheels.
  18. Lower the vehicle.
  19. Remove the J 28467-A , J 28467-90 and J 36462 .
  20. Install the engine mount struts. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .
  21. Connect the battery ground (negative) cable. Refer to Battery.
