J 36660-A Torque Angle Meter


    Object Number: 35801  Size: SH
  1. Install the engine front cover gasket.

  2. Object Number: 35803  Size: SH
  3. Install the engine front cover.
  4. Align the cogs on the crankshaft sprocket with the cogs on the oil pump in the engine front cover.

  5. Apply sealant GM P/N 12346004 or the equivalent to the engine front cover bolt threads.
  6. Install the engine front cover bolts.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 15 N·m (11 lb ft). Use the J 36660-A in order to tighten the bolts an additional 40 degrees.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  8. Install the bolts connecting the oil pan to the engine front cover.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 14 N·m (125 lb in).

  12. Install the crankshaft position sensor shield.
