Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking in General Information.
  3. Remove the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Wheel Replacement in Tires and Wheels.
  4. Remove the inner fender splash shield. Refer to Inner Fender Splash Shield in Body Front End.

  5. Object Number: 43398  Size: SH
  6. Remove the pipes from the oil filter housing. Catch the oil in a pan.
  7. Remove the pipes from the hose connections.
  8. Remove the clamps holding the pipes.
  9. Remove the pipes.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 43398  Size: SH
  1. Install the pipes.
  2. Install the pipes to the oil filter housing.
  3. Install the pipes to the cooler hose housing.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the connections to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the clamps holding the pipes and bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  7. Install the inner fender splash shield. Refer to Inner Fender Splash Shield in Body Front End.
  8. Install the right front tire and wheel. Refer to Wheel Replacement in Tires and Wheels.
  9. Lower the vehicle.
  10. Connect the negative battery cable.
  11. Inspect for the following conditions:
  12. • Correct oil level
    • Leaks
