FLUTTER TYPE NOISE FROM HVAC SYSTEM

SUBJECT: FLUTTER TYPE NOISE FROM HVAC SYSTEM (FOREIGN MATERIAL AT AIR MIX DOOR)

MODELS: 1997-98 BUICK PARK AVENUE/ULTRA

CONDITION:

A FLUTTER TYPE NOISE CAN BE HEARD FROM THE HVAC SYSTEM. THIS NOISE MAY OCCUR IN ANY MODE AND ANY FAN SPEED, AND IN SOME CASES MAY CHANGE WITH DIFFERENT MODES AND FAN SPEEDS.

CAUSE:

FOREIGN MATERIAL AT EITHER AIR MIX DOOR. THERE IS A PIECE OF MYLAR THAT IS GLUED TO THE BACK OF EACH AIR MIX DOOR. IN SOME CASES, THERE MAY BE AN ADDITIONAL PIECE OF MYLAR PRESENT, HELD IN PLACE BY STATIC ELECTRICITY.

CORRECTION:

REMOVE THE ADDITIONAL MYLAR FROM THE VEHICLE.
