Removal Procedure
- Raise the vehicle.
- Remove the front lower splash shield.
- Drain the coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
- Close the radiator drain cock. Install the front splash shield.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the supercharger belt.
- Remove the ignition module.
- Remove the supercharger belt tensioner.
- Remove the accessory drive belt.
- Remove the front engine mount. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement .
- Remove the power steering pump. Set the pump aside. Refer to Power Steering Pump in Power Steering Gear and Pump.
- Remove the engine mount bracket.
- Remove the idler pulley/bracket bolts.
- Remove the idler pulley/bracket.
Installation Procedure
- Install the idler pulley/bracket.
- Install the idler pulley/bracket bolts.
- Install the engine mount bracket.
- Install the power steering pump. Refer to Power Steering Pump in Power Steering Gear and Pump.
- Install the front engine mount. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement .
- Install the accessory drive belt.
- Install the supercharger belt tensioner.
- Install the ignition module.
- Install the supercharger belt.
- Refill the coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
