Important: Additional maintenance recommendations are in this subsection. Also
refer to
Owner Checks and Services
,

.
The services shown in this schedule up to 166 000 km (100,000 mi)
should be performed after 166 000 km (100,000 mi)
at the same intervals. The services shown at 240 000 km
(150,000 mi) should be performed at the same interval after
240 000 km (150,000 mi).
Engine Oil Scheduled Maintenance
Change engine oil and filter as indicated by the GM Oil Life Systemâ„¢
or every 12 months, whichever occurs first. Reset the system. The
system will show you when to change the oil - usually
between 5 000 km (3,000 mi) and 12 500 km
(7,500 mi) since the last oil change. Under severe
conditions, the CHANGE OIL SOON message may be displayed before
5 000 km (3,000 mi).
Never drive the vehicle more than 16 000 km (10,000 mi)
or 12 months without an oil and filter change.
The system will not detect dust in the oil. If the vehicle is driven
in a dusty area, be sure to change the oil and filter every 5 000 km
(3,000 mi) or sooner if the CHANGE OIL SOON message
is displayed. Reset the Oil Life System when the oil and filter
have been changed. Refer to
GM Oil Life System Resetting
.
An Emission Control Service. Refer to footnote [Dagger].
Footnotes
[Dagger] The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency or the California
Air Resources Board has determined that the failure to perform this maintenance
item will not nullify the emission warranty or limit recall
liability prior to the completion of the vehicle's useful
life. We, however, urge that all recommended maintenance services
be performed at the indicated intervals and the maintenance
be recorded.
