Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.
Important: Do not attempt the following steps (steps 7 through 9) with the key in any other position.
Important: Do not insert the cable with the key in any other position except RUN.
14.1. | Turn the ignition key to the OFF/LOCK position. Remove the key. |
14.2. | Readjust the park lock cable if you can shift out of (P) Park. |
14.3. | Turn the ignition key to the RUN position. |
14.4. | Shift to (N) Neutral. |
14.5. | Readjust the park lock cable if you can turn the ignition key to the OFF/LOCK position and are able to remove the key. |
14.6. | Return the shifter to (P) Park. |
14.7. | Turn the ignition key to OFF/LOCK. |
14.8. | If you can not remove the key, readjust the park lock cable. |
