Battery Tray Replacement L26

Removal Procedure

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Remove the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 461887  Size: SH
  4. Remove the battery tray bolts.
  5. Remove the battery tray.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 461887  Size: SH
  1. Install the battery tray.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the battery tray bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the battery tray bolts to 5 N·m (44 lb in).

  5. Install the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement .
  6. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .

Battery Tray Replacement LY7

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement .
  2. Remove the right air inlet grill panel only. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 799787  Size: SH
  4. Remove the 2 bolts securing the front air inlet panel assembly to the battery tray.

  5. Object Number: 776848  Size: SH
  6. Remove the battery tray bolts from the following:
  7. • The inner fender panel
    • The shock tower
    • The lower air inlet panel assembly
  8. Remove the battery tray (2) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 776848  Size: SH
  1. Position the battery tray (2) to the vehicle, locating the alignment datums (1) with the holes in the inner fender.
  2. Install the battery tray bolts to the following:
  3. • The inner fender panel
    • The shock tower
    • The lower air inlet panel assembly

    Tighten
    Tighten the battery tray bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  4. Install the 2 bolts securing the front air inlet panel assembly to the battery tray.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the front air inlet panel assembly bolts to 6 N·m (53 lb in).

  6. Install the right air inlet grill panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement .
  7. Install the battery. Refer to Battery Replacement .
