HARD HORN BLOW EFFORT 1982 STEERING WHEEL

MODELS AFFECTED: All

Reports have been received that blowing some horns require excessive effort at certain areas of the horn pad.

A repair procedure has been developed to reduce the effort required.

1. Remove horn pad assembly from vehicle.

2. Place pad on work bench with underside up so that area to be modified is supported.

3. Wearing safety glasses, place 4 oz. ballpeen hammer at center of section requiring improvement, and with second hammer strike first hammer hard enough to produce small dent. (See Illustration).

4. Using a self-powered test light, try the areas reworked. If additional improvement is needed, you may repeat this procedure adjacent to previous location.
