THE TIME REQUIRED TO ADJUST THE AIR CONDITIONING BELT ON THE 1982 CENTURY EQUIPPED WITH THE 3.0L ENGINE HAS BEEN INCREASED. THE FOLLOWING PROCEDURE IS RECOMMENDED: 1.DISCONNECT POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE. 2.LOOSEN ADJUSTMENT BOLT - OUTER - USING 4" DEEPWELL SOCKET 15MM 3/8 DRIVE. 3.RAISE CAR - LOOSEN ADJUSTMENT BOLT (REAR) USING 15MM FLEX SOCKET AND 10" EXTENSION (OVER AIR MANAGEMENT SYSTEM). 4.LOOSEN PIVOT BOLT. 5.LOWER CAR - ADJUST BELT USING 3" EXTENSION AND 1/2" BREAKER BAR. TIGHTEN OUTER ADJUST BOLT USING 4" DEEPWELL SOCKET 15MM 3/8 DRIVE. 6.RAISE CAR - TIGHTEN PIVOT BOLT - TIGHTEN REAR ADJUST BOLT. 7.LOWER CAR - INSTALL POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE. THE REVISED FLAT RATE TIME FOR THIS OPERATION IS 0.5 HOURS.
